Sayako's landscapes come from dreams that are infused by her close relationship to the foothill landscape where she lives and works. Sacred stupas, Spring orchards and imagined cities bloom from her mind and hand.

Spirits are found everywhere. Symbols populate the psyche, communicating on behalf of our deepest thoughts and emotions.

These larger works show the genesis of Sayako's rich symbology. Contemplative monks, seasonal spirits and monsters populate bold canvases that speak of a collective interior life.
