October at Fly Trap Studio

It was a pleasure to show at Fly Trap Studio in Oakland, CA. In addition to Dairiki's new body of work, the opening event included performances by Vietnamese Zither expert Van-Ahn Vo and Butoh dancer Judith Kajiwara. Hors d'oeuvres were entirely locally grown at the Winters, CA ranch where Dairiki lives and works, deepening the sensory experience of the works on display.
The event was a 360-degree experience which allowed viewers to enter Sayako's imaginary landscapes via her paintings, the interpretive works of the other participating artists and the tastes of dried apricots, squeezed pomegranate juice cocktails and pickles made at the Valley Home ranch.
